I remember meeting Karmen Payne, daughter of Athena as if it were yesterday. Now I don't why it happened...it just happened. Did the fates plan it? Maybe? Who knows. Hi my name is Clover Collins, daughter of Iris and I'm about to tell you how meeting a certain energetic grey-eyed demigod changed my life forever.
-Flashback-
I was in cabin fourteen or also known as the Iris Cabin, twirling my dagger that Michael Yew, a son of Apollo had once given me and was also enjoying the silence when all of a sudden Caterina Andrews, a daughter of Apollo and Michael's half-sister ran in. "Yo Cloves! Chiron wants us to locate a demigod that is apparently from Detroit, Michigan." she said as she fix her black fingerless gloves. I sighed obviously unfazed by the daughter of Apollo's lack of mannerism. Deciding not to keep Caterina waiting because Zeus knows how impatient she can get, I pressed a button on the hilt of my dagger and it turned into a necklace; which I clipped onto my neck.
When I was done, Caterina led me outside to where her older brother, Will Solace was. He was standing next to a golden chariot. I had to admit, the chariot was beautiful. It had carvings of the sun on the bottom and in the front were two white pegasi standing ready. The daughter of Apollo ran to the chariot and jumped in. "Well aren't you coming?" she asked hotly. Will and I both rolled our eyes.
"Typical Cat." He said using Caterina's nickname. I nodded in agreement. "Yep."
"C'mon already!" Cat whined while motioning for me to hurry up. I sighed once again, walked over to the chariot and climbed in."Are we in ok? Good! Lets ride!" Caterina than flicked the reins and we were off. When we got to the school where the demigod was, the smartarse daughter of Apollo stopped the chariot and turned to me. "Ok so here's whats up." Caterina started. "You go in the school and get the demigod while I stay here and watch the chariot. Capisce?
I raised an eyebrow in annoyance at Cat's so-called plan. 'Oh yeah I understand'. I thought.'I understand that your plan is trying to kill me!' However, instead of saying what I really wanted to say I decided that it will be best if I didn't say anything at all and avoid a argument between Caterina and I, despite how stupid the plan was.
"Fine I'll do it." I said gritting my teeth. The child of Apollo, unaware of my major dislike for her now, smiled and shooed me into the school. When I got in, I took off my necklace and it became the dagger.I started to walk down the hallway with my weapon in my hand, prepared for any attacks that came my way while looking for the demigod. 'Stupid Caterina'. I thought as I turned a corner. 'Why must I be the one to go and get the demigod?' This is supposed to be teamwork not a "Do whatever-Cat-says" thing. I shook my head. This mission was suicide without her.
It was one o'clock in the afternoon, so most mortals were in the classroom except a few who were either using the bathroom, getting water, or doing errands for the teacher. Other than that, the school was pretty quiet. I continued to walk down the school's long hallways, avoiding assistant principals, and the other administrators still looking for the said demigod but was having no such luck. This is hopeless. I thought. There is no demigod located he-. My thoughts were interrupted by a hiss that sounded like it was coming from the gymnasium.
Faster than any child of Iris should've been, I gripped my dagger and ran toward the gym where the hiss came from. When I got there, I peeked through the window and saw that a Aethiopian Drakon had cornered a girl against the bleachers, baring its teeth. The girl gulped. With the dagger that Michael had once given me, I burst through the double doors that led into the gym and yelled. "Hey you overgrown reptile!"
Despite how nonthreatening it sounded, I still managed to draw the monster's attention away from the girl. The Aethiopian Drakon turned and hissed at me. "Be careful!" the girl warned. I yelled back in response. "I know! What do you think I am trying to do? Buy freaking cable!"
Bam! I dodged just in time as the monster's teeth almost ripped me to shreds. "C'mon scaleface!" I taunted getting slightly cocky. "Is that all you go-" I never got the chance to finish my sentence and the last thing I remembered was that a huge tail came towards me and my world became black.
